Lately, I’ve been decluttering — one thing at a time. With the project update wrapped up, I’m organizing what’s left over. I also cleaned my room for the first time in a while, gathering unused items to sell secondhand. Going through my things, I realized I tend to keep and use things for a long time. I’ve been using the same film camera I received as a gift, and I’ve stuck with one mechanical keyboard the whole time. So I’ve decided that when I do buy something next, I’d rather spend a little more on something good and use it for years — just like the expensive coat I bought a few years ago that I still wear.
I’m also slowly, very slowly, decluttering my relationships. I want to give a little more attention to the people I genuinely care about — the ones I don’t mind giving my time and energy to. And for those who aren’t, I’m quietly creating distance. There are people I’ll miss, but holding on any longer would only wear me down. I’ll keep the good memories from those times and move on. Like the lyrics of Earth, Wind & Fire’s September — “Do you remember the 21st night of September?”
The surgical scar on my left arm is gradually fading. There are still patches of redness visible from both near and far, but it’s getting better little by little. There’s still a slight awkwardness when I wear my watch on my left wrist and check the time. The range of rotation seems to be recovering slowly — there’s a strangely stiff feeling. I want to keep up with physical therapy and recover to at least 99%, even if not a full 100%.
With the freelance project update done, I’ve started cleanup work for the next version. This update focused on core feature development, so I optimized as much as I could, but there were still loose ends. In particular, there was leftover code from disabling certain features, and since it was a domain I was working with for the first time, some parts of the codebase had gotten messy. I spent a good amount of time organizing documentation and improvement tasks, and barely finished by the end of the weekend. The submitted version hasn’t entered review yet, so I can’t start on the next update, but the preparation is done. In the meantime, I plan to focus on my personal projects. The goal is to ship the new update by the end of this month.
There was also some exciting news. My app “I Need That Widget” broke into the top 50 paid productivity apps on the Korean App Store — at number 34! I’ve had the app out for a while, but I never expected it to chart. I hadn’t done any special marketing, which made it even more surprising. It seems like the App Store algorithm picked it up. Now I really need to ship that new version.

Outside of project work, the things I do for myself — reading books, taking photos with a weekly theme, editing YouTube videos — I barely managed any of them this month. Every week was so packed that I simply didn’t have enough time for personal pursuits. This month in particular, there were a lot of family events, which made it even harder. Next month, I want to carve out as much personal time as I can.
