July 6–12, 2026
I had a quiet week. I spent some time outside the city, preparing a new app. The rainy season began, so there were several days of heavy rain. When it was not raining, I went to a baseball game for the first time in a while and cooked good food at home. It felt nice to spend time cooking at home again. Preparations for the new app are also going smoothly. This week, I focused more on having time for myself than on work.
I am starting to see small changes after adjusting the app’s price. Sales have begun to come in from countries where there had never been any before. Positive signs are appearing one by one. I recently added Spanish support, and it feels like the time has come to support more languages in earnest. Sales in the countries that used to be the main markets have slowed down, while new countries are beginning to generate sales. The feature planned for the next version is somewhat larger in scope, so I think I should promote it again on Reddit and in other communities. I also want to prepare the video and other promotional materials more carefully and give the feature a proper launch. It is a feature I have high hopes for.
Fable became available to users again, and the announcement of ChatGPT 5.6 Sol has drawn a lot of attention. People who use AI more deeply seem to be saying that it performs better than before. Perhaps because I do not use AI that deeply yet, it is hard for me to tell how good Sol is when I mostly use Codex. It still does not feel like the right time to subscribe to Claude Code again, so I will probably try the new models later.
I did take a week off, but I find myself wanting a longer break. It feels a little disappointing, as though I spent the week recharging without actually feeling recharged. I want to let go of the weight on my mind that has been making me uncomfortable.
