May 5–10, 2026
I’ve been reading some good articles lately, which has been nice. Pieces that articulate things I’d only vaguely sensed help me organize my thoughts. Taking time to stay close to writing and books feels worthwhile.
I got a body composition scan after a long while, body fat mass and percentage both went down. It feels like my body is slowly finding its rhythm. I could probably push harder with diet control, but this week was stressful again, so I decided to just maintain where I am. Muscle performance keeps improving, and I’m taking comfort in that.
This week was again focused on personal projects. I got an email about a widget padding issue on smaller iPhone models, so I fixed that minor bug. Going forward, I really need to test on smaller devices too. Fortunately I have an iPhone SE, so I can use that during development.
I also stopped working on a new app. The reason was simple: I built the app to solve a problem, but realized the problem only exists if I ignore what the app already offers. There’s a paid option to work around it, but that felt wrong, too much like giving in. So I dropped that project and decided to work on a different app idea I have. I think this one might actually be useful, I hope it goes well.
I came across an old SNS post from a few years ago where I’d donated for Children’s Day. I’d done it off and on since then, but as life got busier it mostly stopped. This year I donated a small amount again. Seeing that old post made me think about who I was and who I want to be, and I reminded myself not to forget. I’ve been thinking of this month as a time to accumulate good deeds, and I’m trying to do good things within whatever means I have.
